Batman Batmobile Vehicle for 6" Action Figures (2003 Mattel) Review
I must say I was a little surprised at all the negative reviews that this 2003 re-issue of the Batmobile has been given. My son was 5 when he got it for Christmas and is now 6 years old. He plays with this toy 3-4 times a week and just loves it. When it's not in use he proudly displays it on his dresser top and trust me when I tell you not just any old toy gets to sit up there!
Upon putting this toy together I too found some of the pieces were very hard to fit together but once done I've NEVER had to put it together again. It's rock solid and my boy plays with this car inside and outside of the house. As far as the pointed edges on the back of the car go...what can I say...we've never had any problems with him playing with it. Nor am I going to start worrying about it now...
The paint job...what about it? It's dark blue. Batman is called the "Dark Knight"...For as much action as this car sees there isn't a mark on it! I don't know what other color they could have used...let's see...how about black? Yea that won't show any wear and tear either will it...Or how about something in HOT PINK?
Some of you don't like the fact that the car is so BIG...well we think that's the BEST part! It's HUGE! It's WIDE! It has BIG FAT tires! It does have SHARP-POINTED FINS and it comes with a SIDE-CAR! How cool is that? I've been told from the source that it's the coolest...
Lastly these new 6 inch action figures that fit in the car are hands down the best ever made. Yes Robin is VERY HARD to find and being sold on eBay for a hundred grand as we speak...but...NightWing fits in the side car as well. I waited to find them on sale and bought the duel pack that he comes in. I admit you get stuck with a useless, silly looking Batman dressed in silver & black? Why, is he an Oakland Raiders fan? Anyway Nightwing is what you really want and it's the only way you can buy him. Please be warned though...Robin must be a little bit smaller than Nightwing. You'll have a little trouble getting Nightwing into the side-car at first, but he does fit. Even my son now knows how much trouble it is so Nightwing just pretty much rides in the side-car these days. Batman on the other hand is easy for him to get in and out of the car so he sees a lot more action.
Over all I say we got more than our moneys worth with this toy. So as long as there is "Trouble in Gotham City" my son will be there to answer the call!

Batman Batmobile Vehicle for 6" Action Figures (2003 Mattel) Overview
Identical to the sleek design from the "Batman" movie series, this slate-colored, 14.5-inch "Batmobile" rolls smoothly and close to the ground, with two deep seats for the Dynamic Duo to recline in. Inside are all the dash features Bat-fans expect: net, smoke, oil slick, and missile releases. Unfortunately, they only work in one's imagination, but this post-modern Batmobile does breaks into two pieces, creating a funky dragster for Batman, and an armored, 10-inch motorcycle for Robin. Other bat-features include a rear-end jet pack (when the Caped Crusaders are in an extra hurry), a front-end missile array, and one large missile. All that's missing is Batman and Robin. No batteries required.

A lot of fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - -
This is a great toy. We have not had any of the problems with it falling apart or it being too hard to put together. Everything worked out fine. My son loves this toy. The only thing is that I felt the fins are really too pointy for it to be a child's toy. So we have told our child to be careful about this. However if you teach your child to be careful with those fins or you can put some kind of cover on them, then the toy is fine.

We bought this for our five year old son. He has a great time with it. It was not hard to assemble and it does not fall apart. I see some people have had problems with these two issues. I guess we have been lucky. I would recommend the toy, but if you do get it, teach your child to watch out for the pointed fins. I did feel they were too pointy for a child's toy.
